2012 EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON NANO FILMS

We have great pleasure in inviting you to the second European Conference on Nanofilms (ECNF 2), to be held in Ancona, Italy, June 17-22, 2012.

This event, after the great success of the first edition which was held in Liege in 2010 and gathered more than 250 delegates from industry and academia, aims at providing a global and applicative oriented vision of European Research on Nanofilms. From the synthesis of nanoparticles up to the mass production of nanocoatings, this multisession symposium will thus review critical topics for nanofilm development. In fact, in the last decade, nanotechnologies have moved out of laboratories and into the industrial world so that, nowadays, nanofilms are part of our everyday life. Nanofilms are used in mechanical industries to reduce lubrification, or for solar panels to produce “green energy”, and even in medical implants. These are just a few of the most well-known examples of the ever-increasing number of applications for which these advanced coatings are used nowadays.

In this context, the ECNF conference has the ambitious goal of acting as an exchange platform for those experts whose daily effort is devoted to facing the challenges of today’s society and to improving the quality of life. In order to promote the exchange of information between research and industry and networking opportunities, besides traditional plenary sessions, invited and submitted presentations, thematic round tables will also be organized to maximize interaction between participants.

The call for abstract is now open and first confirmed invited speakers are known. We will have the pleasure to welcome Prof. Riccardo d’Agostino (Plasma Solutions), Prof. Jas Pal Badyal (Univeristy of Durham), Dr. Ulrich Kroll (Balzers Solar), Dr. Antonio Santana (IonBond), Dr. Sophie Senani (EADS) and many more.
